Virginia's Room

Located in the Main House, this serene yet cheerful retreat is painted a soft pale yellow with elegant green accents. The cozy space features a four-post queen bed and a private tiled bathroom with a tub and shower. Slip into one of the plush terry-cloth robes and unwind by the room’s original 1851 fireplace, now converted to gas but still showcasing its beautifully restored Victorian-era cast iron coal fire insert—an inviting spot to read or relax with a favorite show.

One of the room’s most charming features is its historic connection: Virginia Croxton, a former resident from 1875 to 1888, left her name delicately etched into the window glass alongside that of a fellow visitor. From the window, guests can enjoy a view of the fully restored 18th-century tavern just across the way, a landmark dating back to the late 1700s.

Lal's Room

Located in the Main House, this richly colored room has been described as everything from brick to watermelon to shades of deep orange-red. Its warm, slightly masculine style blends traditional charm with the ambiance of a classic library. A four-poster queen bed, private tiled bathroom with tub and shower, and a working gas fireplace with beautifully restored surround create an inviting and comfortable retreat.

Above the fireplace, don’t miss the intriguing carved characters—just one of many thoughtful details that give the room its distinctive personality. From the windows, enjoy peaceful views of the garden, courtyard, and a nearby historic church.

This room is named for Lawrence "Lal" Roane, the youngest child of Dr. Lawrence Roane, who once lived in the house. The room honors both his memory and the generational history that lives within these walls.

Elizabeth's Room

Located in the Main House, this inviting room offers a calm and restful atmosphere, with creamy beige walls and soft shades of green and peach throughout. Spacious and airy, the room features a four-poster king bed perfect for a peaceful night’s sleep, and a pair of matching wingback chairs ideal for unwinding in the evening. The recently restored fireplace with state-of-the-art gas logs adds warmth and elegance to the space.

Corner windows provide lovely views of the surrounding neighborhood and offer a front-row seat to the breathtaking sunrises over the river. A private tiled bathroom with tub and shower completes the room’s comfort and charm.

This room is named in honor of Elizabeth Warner Trible, beloved matriarch of the family, who lived in the home from 1958 through the 1990s. Her enduring presence and care helped preserve the legacy and spirit of the house for generations to come.

Meriwether's Room

Located in the Main House—and famously chosen by Reba McEntire during her stay—this spacious room is one of the largest on the property. Decorated in deep blue with bold red accents, it offers a regal, colonial ambiance that pays tribute to the home’s 18th-century roots. A four-poster king bed promises a restful stay, while a working gas fireplace and elegant French-style chairs add both comfort and charm.

The private tiled bathroom features a tub and shower, and the windows offer picturesque views of the garden, courtyard, and the historic church just across the street.

This room is named for Meriwether Smith, who owned this lot between 1778 and 1787. In addition to several other local properties, he built a modest brick home here—a quiet footprint in what would become a place full of enduring stories and Southern hospitality.

The Laundry Suite

The Laundry Suite was a part of the original 1840's Slave Quarter and still contains the original large fireplace with a warming gas log fire and authentic, period laundry related antiques.  There is a private entrance, living room and kitchen with bistro-style table on the main floor. The upstairs bedroom features a queen bed, nicely appointed in welcoming shades of green and rose. The bathroom is off the bedroom with a tub/shower. This smaller suite is well suited to a couple or a single person, though the small couch downstairs can be used as a bed for younger children. Charming decor and vintage laundry accouterments add to its ambiance. Pet friendly

The Kitchen Suite

This suite was part of the original Slave Quarter, built before the main house in the 1840's. Once the property's kitchen, it still contains the original fireplace, now with beautiful gas logs, complete with iron swing arm that used to hold pots over the fire, as well as many period antiques which would have been used in food preparation. This Suite has a private entrance, living room with day bed and kitchen on the main floor. The bedroom with queen bed and bathroom with tub/shower are upstairs. A blue and cream color scheme with green accents and many vintage kitchen items add to the charm.  Pet friendly
